Salad for Breakfast

I too am a savory breakfast person and when it gets cold, I can't bring myself to eat cereal or yogurt with nuts so I started having soup for breakfast. It's a fantastic change and my favorite soup, Kale and white bean, ( http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/bean-soup-with-kale/Detail.aspx) gives you the veggies and the fiber and keeps me full through mid day. Not sure how it would work for those who like to work out after breakfast (I prefer to workout and then eat), but the warmth and health I feel after eating the soup is great.

I like that idea too! I was thinking Salad for Breakfast, Soup for Dinner! Thanks for sharing that recipe..I'll give it a go. Kale and beans, how can you go wrong?

I agree with Kay! such a great post. I workout in the morning everyday on my ab rocket and I make sure to eat right. I feel eating right and staying fit and healthy are a few of the most important details you can keep up in life. There are other variables but those are the most important in my life. I will have to get the book for a good read! Thanks Lisa!

Lisa! Thanks so much for the inspiration! I workout mid morning a few times a week and I am not typically into breakfast as defined by cereal and toast. I read your SFB blog and jumped off my Mac and eagerly put together a large bowl of greens with anything I could find- chopped walnuts, grapes, apple, celery and parsley. I look forward to many more SFB's! Gratefully, Kay Abrams of Garrett Park

p.s. I also sent your book list to my daughter who is studying anthropology with an interest in food/agriculture. What a great book list!
