STRAWBERRY SPINACH SALAD WITH POPPY SEED VIDALIA DRESSING
This salad is the epitome of Spring. Today, we had it for lunch with strawberries Tabby and I hand picked from a local farm not 30 minutes before. The berries were so juicy and sweet, that usually I make the dressing with a decent amount of sugar, but today, I hardly used any and between the berries and the vidalia onion, the salad was perfect.

ROASTED ASPARAGUS & GARLIC SOUP WITH TOASTED SUNFLOWER SEEDS
If you haven’t taken advantage of Spring’s bounty yet with all of Lisa’s yummy asparagus recipes like the super easy frittata or barley asparagus salad, then you may want to try this creamy soup. I’m a huge fan of bisques and this one not only made the house smell delicious while cooking (thanks to the roasted garlic!), but it also tasted pretty darn good too.
BARLEY SALAD WITH RADISHES, ASPARAGUS, TARRAGON AND MINT
Barley is a beautiful backdrop to the fresh flavors of Spring!
Spring Radish and Pea Shoot Salad
Pea shoots are one of my favorite things to eat in the spring. They’re so fleeting, here one day and gone the next, so eat them while you can and enjoy. I got my shoots in today's delivery and wanted to use them immediately, but didn’t just want to gobble them down any old way.
Matzo Ball Soup with Swiss Chard and Carrots
Since Passover begins tomorrow I thought I’d make my Shiksa version of matzo ball soup. My parents are in visiting, and what better way for everyone to join around the table than with a hearty soup?
Radish, Avocado & Grapefruit Salad
Truth be told, when I first saw this pretty salad on Lorelei’s Tiny Kitchen, I thought, “ehhh.” Yes, it’s beautiful and very Springy-looking, but just seemed waaaay too healthy to actually taste good. Boy, was I wrong.
HAIL CAESAR
With the ides of March right around the corner, I thought it was appropriate to share one of my old standby recipes: the Caesar salad. While it’s easy to chuck a ready-made bagged salad on the table and bark, “Diiiiiinnnnnner!” to your family, I promise if you take the extra time to make your own dressing and croutons and use good Romaine, you (and whoever else you’re serving) will be happy.
Use it Up #5: My version of a Detox Salad
I figure that if the majority of this blogs' reader's are cooking from the box or are at least seeking out recipes that would be on our page, you're pretty terrific eaters to begin with. Yeah, there is that stretch between Halloween and New Years Day that makes us end up setting crazy, hardcore resolutions or goals (so how is everybody doing with THIS year's resolutions?) when we wake up from our food comas. But in general I would deign this salad more of a weekly fix of crunchy chewy deliciousness.
Use It Up #3: Chard Chicken Chowder
Whenever I look in my fridge and see a bunch of random veggies that I need to use up, I immediately think, “Time for soup!” Whenever I look in my fridge and see a bunch of random veggies that I need to use up, I immediately think, “Time for soup!”
