What's New This Week:
This week we have just one new product to introduce but it's a biggie; C-O-F-F-E-E !!! We've been wanting to bring you coffee for some time now, but not just any coffee. This is something really special and that's why it comes from uh, Viroqua, Wisconsin?!!?? Yep, little Kickapoo Coffee - a micro roaster in a micro part of our country. These folks are doing it all right. Not only are they
producing a 100% handcrafted organic coffee, but they are walking the walk when it comes to fair trade, social justice and sustainability. In 2010 they were honored with the title of "Roaster of the Year" by Roast and they are a finalist in the 2012 Good Food Awards. It's a very small company with a mission that fits with ours. The only place you may have tried their coffee in DC is at Pound. We're starting with 2 different beans: Their signature coffee which is Driftless Dark ($12.00 per pound) - decadent, smooth and rich with intense bittersweet chocolate on the finish and Bolivia($13.00 per pound) a single origin bean with "wonderful graham cracker sweetness and enticing notes of cocoa and yellow plum with maple syrup on the finish". Well, we couldn't have said it better! We are selling freshly roasted beans in 1 pound bags. We'll be rotating the single origin offering every couple of weeks. Would you like ground coffee? Let us know with a quick shout and we'll add a ground option too!
