Good Morning Everyone!
Hope your weekend was lovely and relaxing...did you get out to play in the beautiful weather? Hope so!
Speaking of weather, we want to take a second to remind everyone to leave a cooler WITH an ice pack or two for us if you order items that need to be kept cold. If you ordered them we WILL deliver them even if we don't see a cooler. We assume that you've just stepped out and that you will be back shortly. Most of our folks who regularly order dairy, meat or prepared items just leave a cooler out and toss cold packs in on delivery day. Then, even if you forget the cold packs, we can still put the items in the cooler and probably throw in one of our cold packs if we've got extra.
So with that bit of business out of that way, let's get on to what's new this week!
We have the seasonal sweetheart from the allium world; garlic scapes! These guys are locally and organically grown and come from Windy Knolls Farm in Pennsylvania. Also, not to be missed are the beautiful Easter Egg Radishes, Sugar Snap Peas and bunched beets with tops from Greenbranch Farm in Salisbury, MD. Farmers Ted and Julia Wycall grow organically but are not certified. We are really excited to be working with Greenbranch Farm. Expect to see a lot of fantastic produce coming your way grown by them! Check out this video and get to know them and their farm a little better!
Also, not new but returning this week are a few items from Sweet Stem Farm. We are so pleased that Sweet Stem was more then happy to come up with a nitrate AND nitrite-free version of their Happy Hot Dogs per our request. They went to work honing recipes and doing taste tests and now these dogs are not merely happy, they're SUPER happy! We're also picking up (today!) more kielbasa , nitrate/nitrite free ham steaks, and boneless pork loin chops...just in time for barbecue season!
