What's New This Week -December 12, 2011
Some exciting news this week! We've just added Delaware to our delivery area and we could not be more excited about it! Deliveries will be on Tuesdays for locals and we'll be working out a "beach box" delivery day for those of you who would like your Washington's Green Grocer delivery to follow you to the beach come Summer.
From Christina Masar Pantry in Lancaster, PA we're now carrying Cranberry Poblano Pepper Jam, Sour Cherry Marmalade, Blackberry Preserves with Lemon Thyme, Jim's Rasbperry and Jalapeno Pepper Jam and Peach Basil Jam. We also have her delicious Blueberry Buttermilk Pancake Mix. Find it in our Kitchen Cupboard.
And speaking of that Pancake Mix, that leads us to this week's newest meal kit..."The Big 'Ol Breakfast Kit"! You get a 1 pound pack of Christina Masar Pantry Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes, 1 pound of breakfast sausage links (made with our pork from Greenmont Farm, VA), 1 pound of nitrate and nitrite-free smoked bacon from Weaver Valley or Stolfutz Farm, PA, 1 dozen of our farm fresh eggs. We just took delivery on lambs from grower Craig Rogers at Border Springs Farm in Patrick Springs, VA so all cuts are are now available. We are thrilled to be working with Craig whose lambs are animal welfare approved and certified naturally raised. Find it listed in under our meat section.
We have also taken delivery on hogs from Greenmont Farm in Fishersville, VA. These are heritage breed, pasture and forest-foraged hogs. All cuts are currently available, including pork belly if anyone would like to take a crack at curing your own bacon!
