Founders Taylor and Katie of Austin, Texas, explored a variety of diets – vegetarian, vegan, raw – before hitting their stride with what's now called the "paleo" diet.
Both extremely active (Taylor a runner and triathlete; Katie an Ironman competitor), they struggled to replenish their bodies after hard workouts and ultimately looked to the whole foods consumed by their ancestors for answers.
By emphasizing healthy animal fats, grass-fed protein and leafy vegetables, they found their "bodies and minds radiated with exuberance," and they "reached exciting new levels of performance during competition as well as daily life."
Preparing those meals at home was easy enough, but what about travel? Work? The gym? …That's where EPIC was born. Taylor, Katie and their team have set out to create conveniently packaged and nutrient-dense animal protein snacks.
EPIC is passionate about how and where it sources its meat. All animals are pasture raised, grass fed, humanely treated, antibiotic-free and hormone-free. Snacks contain no gluten, soy, dairy or added nitrates.
"We call our product EPIC because it improves the lives of animals, regenerates our bodies, and helps heal the land. Due to an ingredient label unlike anything else, EPIC epitomizes real foods and will always be humane, pasture centered, and most importantly, delicious. May you fill your life with epic adventure and epic health!"
