Sarah Gordon and Sheila Fain, the pair behind Gordy's Pickle Jar, made their first batch of sweet chips as favors for a friend's wedding in 2011. Their ultimate goal was not just to make great-tasting products, but to create a thriving business that would give back and educate their community on the importance of good food. "We like to think that we are doing a small part in bringing people back to tasty, authentic flavors made with real ingredients."
The business is named for Sarah's dad, with whom she shares a mutual love of pickles.
"Gordy's is committed to using seasonal, organic and local ingredients whenever possible. We take great care with our ingredients (sourcing the highest-quality), our manufacturing process (time-honored techniques) and even our packaging. The end result is a line of well-balanced products with sophisticated flavors that are completely unique in taste and texture."
